Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop
Get excited for T-Town Swing's first intermediate Lindy hop workshop held in conjunction with Down Beat Dance! We are ecstatic that we will have Ariel Goh (from Eastside Stomp) teaching the workshop, along with our own Jonathon Pope.

Recommend having taken Lindy 1, or equivalent, twice or be comfortable with swing outs, Lindy circles, and tuck turns. If you have any questions about your skill level, talk to Jonathon, Laura, Savannah, or Nick for advice.
Topics include:
-
Connection, connection, connection! It’s all about fine-tuning that two-way (yes, two-way) communication between leaders and followers for the ability to get those “mind-reader” moments.
-
Swingouts, swivels, and switches, oh my! Followers, this is your time to shine! We’ll build these follower power moves, swivels and switches, starting from scratch and building to individual polish. Leaders, you won’t want to miss this part—we’ll take a look at how different swingouts build different conversations and openings for both partners!
-
Musicality! Out of ideas? Try a great resource right in front of you: your partner. We’ll explore how to give and ask for room to express yourself to different types of music!
Workshop is 12:00-3:00 and is $30 ahead of time, $40 at the door. $10 off for UPS students. Workshop is held in the dance studio of the University of Puget Sound's Field house. Get directions here.
Meet Guest Instructor Ariel Goh!

Ariel Goh LOVES LINDY HOP. She gets nerdy about connection and the science of movement, and for the past several years she’s been nerding out with partner, Ben White, and with students at Eastside Stomp, University of Washington, Seattle University, Cascadia Community College, and at workshops in the US, Canada, and Europe! She also LOVES FOLLOWERS. (Leaders, y’all are pretty cool too.) Followers have an incredibly badass and intricate role in the dance, and she’s so excited to share it with all of you!
If you want to see a sample of her dancing, check out this video from Lindy Bout last year: click here.
